The Horizon Europe collaborative project BioAgora, in partnership with NINA, announces the launch of a new cascade funding call aimed at strengthening capacity across the Science-Policy-Society Interface (SPSI). This funding initiative seeks to empower researchers, policymakers, and societal actors with the skills and competencies needed to enhance collaboration, upgrade their skills, and improve communication to contribute to the achieving of the goals of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.

The funding call, with a total budget of €350,000, is designed to support capacity development activities that bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and policymaking. Applicants are invited to propose initiatives that will enable knowledge exchange, collaborative practices, and the development of shared values in biodiversity conservation efforts.

Kaisa Korhonen-Kurki, project coordinator of BioAgora, highlights the importance of this initiative: “By fostering a more dynamic and functional dialogue between science, policy and society, we aim to facilitate actionable pathways that will address urgent solutions to tackle biodiversity loss. This funding call offers a unique opportunity to build the capacities required to implement transformative change for biodiversity.”
