HumanTech Summit 2024: Embracing humanity, inspiring through technology

Warsaw, Poland – 7-8.12.2024
HumanTech Summit is a meeting of a human with the latest technologies. The mission of the conference is to connect people representing different experiences and approaches in the field of technology: scientists and practitioners, people with technical and social orientations, and experts from Poland and abroad.

We invite outstanding experts to our conferences, putting the high quality of the presented content based on scientific evidence at the forefront. The conferences are an element of the HumanTech Meetings project, within which 28 HumanTech Meetings webinars and 2 HumanTech Summit conferences have already been organized with the direct participation of approximately 5,000 people, including approximately 250 speakers from universities such as Stanford University, the University of Southern California, and the University of Oxford.

The conference is international and the language of the conference is English.

With the theme "Embracing Humanity, Inspiring Through Technology," the 2024 program delves into topics at the forefront of technological and social innovation:

• Sustainable digitalization and automation in business
• Use of the latest technologies, including artificial intelligence, for sustainable development
• Generative artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs)
• Applications of AI and virtual reality (VR) in education, business, and health promotion
• New technologies for democracy

The hybrid conference format combines in-person sessions at SWPS University’s Warsaw campus with virtual participation, ensuring accessibility for attendees worldwide.

A Platform for Expertise and Innovation

HumanTech Summit stands out for its commitment to delivering high-quality, research-backed content. Key highlights include:

• Keynote speakers: Nina Jane Patel (Vice Chair of Research, Kabuni Education Technologies, UK), Katherine Stapleton (World Bank / University of Oxford, UK), Arvid Kappas (Professor of Psychology, Constructor University Bremen, Germany), Matt Motyl (Resident Fellow, Integrity Institute, USA), S. Shyam Sundar (Director, Center for Socially Responsible AI, Penn State, USA).
• Interactive Hackathon: Teams will use Google Cloud and Vertex AI to prototype socially responsible technology applications.
• Workshops and Exhibits: Pre-conference sessions and exhibition spaces showcasing the latest innovations. From AI ethics to sustainable tech, sessions offer the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and create real-world solutions with experts in the field.

A Proven Legacy of Impact

Building on the success of previous editions, HumanTech Summit 2022 and 2023 welcomed over 1,400 participants, featured nearly 100 expert speakers, and addressed issues ranging from data security to the future of interpersonal relationships. These events also included hackathons and poster sessions, fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration. The HumanTech Summit is known for attracting distinguished keynote speakers who are at the forefront of their fields. In 2022, keynote speakers included: Nathanael J. Fast (University of Southern California, USA), Andrew Schwartz (Stony Brook University, USA), Tara Behrend (Purdue University, USA), Moshe Y. Vardi (Rice University, USA) and Youyou Wu (University College London, UK).

In 2023, the event featured: Anna Ciaunica (University of Lisbon, Portugal), Anna Scherer (formerly University of Zurich, Switzerland), Christian Klaes (Ruhr University, Germany), Jonathan Gratch (University of Southern California, USA), Michał Kosiński (Stanford University, USA), Selma Sebanovic (Indiana University, USA) and Zillah Watson (Phase, UK).

HumanTech Center, SWPS University

HumanTech Center is the only research center in Poland that comprises both social and technological innovations, and the only center of its kind operating at a university, which  specializes in social sciences and humanities.
