We are thrilled to announce that the Digital Olfaction Summit (DOS) 2024 will take place this December 5-6 in Tokyo, bringing together researchers, innovators, and practitioners from around the world to showcase the future of Digital Olfaction (DO). This prestigious event invites participants to present short oral presentations, share research in poster sessions, and conduct live demonstrations that highlight the latest advancements in the field.

Live Demonstrations: Experience firsthand how DO technologies are evolving, with real-world applications in healthcare, food and beverage, environmental monitoring, and more.

  • Scout3 by Volatile AI

Volatile AI will highlight the Scout3’s capabilities by performing VOC fingerprint profiling on Nespresso capsules. Designed for high-precision, field-ready measurements without the need for a chemist, Scout3 is portable, easy to use, and versatile.

  • NeOse™ by Aryballe

Aryballe introduces NeOse™, a portable “digital nose” with a 64-sensor array for real-time, high-sensitivity odor detection and analysis. It delivers fast, user-friendly results with high classification accuracy.

  • AroChemBase Software by Alpha MOS

Alpha MOS will demonstrate AroChemBase, a software designed for odor and chemical analysis across various industries, supporting GC-FID, GC-MS, and GC-O users. Its multi-parameter search and extensive aroma database provide accurate, in-depth analyses.

  • Miniature Wearables for Digital Olfaction

Dr. José Pedro Santos and Dr. Jesús Lozano will present wearable devices, including a smart necklace and smartwatch that integrate advanced electronic noses for real-time scent detection. These devices offer practical tools for monitoring VOCs in the environment and provide insights into air quality and allergens.

More about the demonstrations.

Capture and transmit odors

DOS invites teams from across the globe to participate in this unique challenge by digitizing scents that represent the cultural essence of their regions. Whether from major cities like Berlin and New York, or locations with distinctive aromas, contributors will play a vital role in creating a vast digital scent archive. A dedicated team in Tokyo will work to faithfully reconstitute these digital scent signatures, with the final technology reveal planned for 2025.

Join international academia and industries

Among attendees who will join the congress: Ajinomoto Co., Alpha MOS, Aryballe, FoodTech, Procter & Gamble, REVORN Co., Shimadzu, SOx NOx Asia Sdn Bhd, Suntory Global Innovation Center Limited, UAB Volatile Technologies, Cajal Institute, Duke University, Hanyang university, Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Kyushu University, Macao Polytechnic, Meijo University, Politecnico di Milano, and others.
