Washington, D.C. — The American Association for the Advancement of Science, one of the world’s largest general scientific societies and publisher of the Science family of journals, announces an external research project to help the organization reimagine AAAS.org as part of a website overhaul project, which recently kicked off. AAAS is seeking input from its key audiences, including reporters and public information officers, to better align the experience and content of the website. As AAAS embarks on the next 175 years of its history, the new AAAS.org will strive to better showcase the AAAS mission and vision that were refined in 2022, breath of activities, latest news, experts available to the press, events and resources.
“Our goal is to feature the best of what AAAS has to offer and enhance how our audiences experience the new AAAS.org. We will be evaluating how to most effectively talk about AAAS in a 21st-century context, acknowledging our roots and leaning into the role we are playing to advance the scientific enterprise in service to society,” said Tracy Gnadinger, digital director at AAAS.

The following 5-minute survey will help AAAS gain a deeper understanding of reporters and PIOs’ needs and how to better support these audience in a reimagined AAAS website. Reporters and PIOs who share their thoughts about AAAS.org by October 31 will be eligible to receive a complimentary tote bag with a vintage Science magazine cover from 1976 – available on a first-come, first-served basis.
