Marking 25 years of brain health discoveries, Center for BrainHealth, a cognitive neuroscience research institute and part of The University of Texas at Dallas, has welcomed a bevy of new advisory board members to reflect the rich talents and diversity of Dallas-Fort Worth.The nonprofit added a mix of 15 first-year board members who work in mainstream media, professional sports, higher education, city government, healthcare and finance to help guide the center’s bold initiatives throughout the coming year.New board members include:

  • Dr. Debbie Beck, principal at Perkins&Will;
  • Dr. John Burruss, CEO at Metrocare Services;
  • Kathleen Bentler, senior director of development at University of Dallas;
  • Elizabeth Conroy, agent at Allie Beth Allman & Associates, and co-founder of Selling Shufords Real Estate Group;
  • Angie Eckelcamp, CEO and owner of Eckx Consulting LLC;
  • Jason Garrett, former NFL football player and coach, and analyst for NBC’s pregame show Football Night in America;
  • Derek Gerow, partner at Bain & Company;
  • Bart Humphrey, president and CEO at Humphrey Oil Corporation, and partner and director at LPR Energy LLC;
  • Jolie Humphrey – photographer and interior designer;
  • Cheryl Mayo Williams, budget and contracts administrator at City of Dallas;
  • Sam Mudro – president and chief financial officer at HKS;
  • Sammye Myers, director of the Mike A. Myers Foundation;
  • Phil Sanders, retired CEO of Waddell & Reed Financial, Inc.;
  • Megha Tolia, president and COO of Shondaland;
  • Katie Townend Doherty, director of advancement at The Compass School of Texas; and
  • Frankie Wilson, Jr., co-principal at Zoe Communications Agency.

The 2024-2025 fiscal year brings exciting changes to board leadership as well – with former vice chair Lindsay Wilson, president of the architecture firm Corgan, taking the reins as board chair and seasoned BrainHealth board member Craig Kennington, partner at Kennington Commercial, assuming the role of vice chair. Both leaders bring a solid background in supporting brain-healthy approaches to workplace culture and community building.
