The Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF), Bielefeld University's Institute for Advanced Study, offers researchers the opportunity to work together on current, original topics. The ZiF has published new calls for research groups.
The ZiF offers financial resources (e.g. for events, accommodation, travel expenses), the necessary infrastructure (e.g. conference and working spaces, apartments) and organisational support for an intensive examination of an interdisciplinary topic.
Researchers from all disciplines and all countries can apply to the ZiF for funding for research groups in the following formats:
- Visiting Groups: 1 to 3 months; up to 50,000 euros for travel and accommodation costs as well as the organisation of workshops and conferences; personnel expenses (buy-outs) cannot be applied for
- Long-Term Groups: several stays at the ZiF within three years; the recurring visits can add up to a total of 10 months; up to EUR 200,000 for travel and accommodation costs as well as workshops and conferences; personnel expenses (buy-outs) cannot be applied for
