Plant oils may help improve the cholesterol profile of men with high blood cholesterol, according to a study in June 1999's American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. In the study, men who consumed a moderate-fat diet, including a specific type of plant oil, experienced 25% reductions in LDL, or "bad," cholesterol.
