Charles Parks Richardson, MD, has been elected as a Board Member of the Society for Disaster Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Richardson is an American physician who is both an accomplished physician and a medical innovator. He has not only been the inventor of several medical devices and pharmaceutical processes but has translated these into successful business ventures in partnership with such prestigious organizations as the American Heart Association.
He is currently the CEO of Critical Medical Infrastructure (CMI), KRS Global Biotechnology, and GeneRx, which includes an FDA registered 503B compounding pharmacy outsourcing organization that supplies pharmaceuticals to all 50 states. In addition, Dr. Richardson is internationally recognized for his global health advocacy. Among his nationally and internationally recognized achievements are the co-founding of both Cleveland Heart (in partnership with the Cleveland Clinic and TransWorld Med.), focusing on total heart replacement and ventricular assist devices, and Intelliservices Inc. which offers both the deployment of remote electronic medical records, and the wireless monitoring of implanted medical devices via the Internet (now owned by Medtronic).
Dr. Richardson's current interests are in addressing pharmaceutical stockpiling and supply chain issues (in partnership with the University of Georgia) as well as development of an Inventory Management supply chain module within ViiMed, a leader in no-code healthcare information technology solutions. These initiatives will greatly enhance our Preparedness and Response posture and our ability to better deal with the full spectrum of Public Health Emergencies both domestically and globally. Dr. Richardson clearly brings much-needed expertise to the Society in accomplishing our primary mission of improving Global Health Security.
