The tomato curly stunt virus (ToCSV) is a ‘young’ but devastating virus similar to tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) at the DNA level. UJ researchers found a link between the Ty-1 gene activity, tolerance to ToCSV and a plant defence called viral DNA methylation. The study is published at https://doi.org/10.3389/fpls.2023.1135442
