From left to right: IDO, expressed in green, is high in lung tissue of macaques with untreated TB (1st panel), and those receiving TB antibiotics (2nd panel). IDO is much lower in lung tissue of animals that received both TB antibiotics and an IDO inhibitor (3rd and 4th panels). Red indicates macrophages, which are other important immune cells.
