Input voltage-dependent potentiation-depression characteristics of the proposed artificial synapse devices. The brain-inspired synapse device based on an oxide semiconductor exhibits excellent linearity and symmetry during the potentiation and depression, while the output current linearly varies with the number of input pulses. The output current is nearly proportional to the input voltage, making it possible to perform AI training and inference tasks with high accuracy and extremely low power consumption.
