Ocean warming impacts gene activity of clownfish larvae (IMAGE)
Caption
At all stages of development, at least 450 genes had altered activity. Clownfish larvae at stage three and stage six showed the most extreme differences, with changes in the activity of over 3000 genes. These two stages are developmentally important, with stage three occurring just before the onset of metamorphosis, and stage six being the period when clownfish settle onto an anemone.
