Diagram of experiment (IMAGE) University of Tokyo Caption Japanese volunteer subjects aged 19-25 years old were asked to voice sounds from the Japanese alphabet. After a short time delay (200-600 milliseconds), they listened to playbacks under different conditions. They then indicated how long it took to hear the playback and how strongly they felt they had made the sound. The results indicated that participants felt a stronger sense of agency when hearing their own voice. Credit 2022 Ryu Ohata, The University of Tokyo.
