QUT researchers have captured unprecedented high-resolution imagery of vegetation and biodiversity in Antarctic protected areas. Drones, equipped with highly advanced sensors and AI, mapped large areas revealing moss and lichen not previously picked up by satellite. The vision is being used to study changes to Antarctica's climate.
