Dozens of adult rat lungworms (male and female) removed from the pulmonary artery and heart chamber of a single Norway rat. Female worms are larger than males and have a 'barber pole' or 'candy cane' appearance. Males are shorter and thinner than females with light coloration. Blue Bic pen lid for size comparison.
