The actual E-THEMIS camera is at left, bolted inside a skeleton frame used by engineers to handle the instrument without touching it. Shiny copper (center) shows part of the heavy copper-tungsten vault that will shield vulnerable electronics from Jupiter's powerful radiation. Below the vault is the instrument's gray sunshade, through which thermal radiation enters the instrument.
