SARS-CoV-2 genome: A shapeshifting killer (IMAGE) University of Groningen Caption The RNA genome of the SARS-CoV-2 virus can adopt multiple 'shapes' (structural conformations) in the context of the infected host cell. Although the function of the different conformations is still largely unknown, some of them have been shown to be crucial during the virus replicative cycle, for example to regulate genome cyclization.
