F1 black-capped and mountain chickadee hybrid

A genetically confirmed F1 black-capped and mountain chickadee hybrid found in Boulder County, CO in 2021 as part of the Boulder Chickadee Study. This female built an incomplete nest (the nest should have a woven cup of fur in the middle), failed to lay eggs, and then incubated the bottom of this nest box for 2 weeks before abandoning.
