Studying nanotubes wrapped around carbon nanotubes and BN nanotubes.

Carbon nanotubes have metallic or semiconducting properties, and strongly block light used to probe the properties of materials. On the other hand, boron nitride nanotubes are insulating and transparent, letting light signals get through.
