Novel immunotherapy mechanism suppresses breast cancer development (IMAGE)

New research from Massachusetts General Hospital describes how CD4+ T cells activated by an immune factor called thymic stromal lymphopoietin suppress breast cancer by differentiating cancer into benign cyst-like structures. Here, T cells (yellow) are inducing cyst formation in breast cancer (green), which prevents the cancer cells from proliferating (Ki67 as the marker of cell proliferation, red).
