Hippocampus cells (IMAGE)
Caption
Cells within the CA2 region of the hippocampus have distinct characteristics. In particular, their mitochondria – visualized here by presence of the mitochondrial calcium uniporter protein in yellow – are larger and more abundant in certain regions of the cell. The neuronal cell body and dendrites fluoresce magenta.
