Scientists at the Allen Institute are studying human neurons that appear to be highly specialized as compared to their rodent counterparts. One of these newly described neuron types, the CARM1P1 neuron, sends long-range connections in the brain and may be selectively vulnerable in Alzheimer’s disease.
