Tracking SARS-CoV-2 infection

The new reporter viruses help researchers observe the progression of SARS-CoV-2 infection in transgenic mouse models. Numbers indicate days post infection, and red indicates a larger amount of virus replication. Here, the amount of viral load reported in the lungs increases on day 2 post infection, and then drops off again on day 6 post infection.
