At the heart of this balance, monocytes play a central role in the regulation of CD4 T cell responses, represented on the left of the image by the deleterious cytotoxic profile of CD4 T cells in the absence of monocyte regulation, and on the right of the image, by the establishment of a regulatory dialogue between these two populations.
