Lucy observes lunar eclipse (VIDEO) Southwest Research Institute This video is under embargo. Please login to access this video. Caption The May 2022 total lunar eclipse was imaged by the L’LORRI black-and-white camera from aboard the Lucy spacecraft 64 million miles from Earth. In this time-lapse video covering almost three hours, the Earth is seen on the left (its rotation clearly visible), while the Moon (on the right) disappears as it passes into the Earth’s shadow. The Moon, which is much fainter than the Earth, has been brightened sixfold to make it more visible.
