Xyloplax Embryos (IMAGE) Ohio Supercomputer Center Caption Scientists leveraged computer systems at the Ohio Supercomputer Center to help support their contention that class-level status of Xyloplax does not reflect their evolutionary history. This female specimen was collected along the Juan de Fuca Ridge off the coast of the state of Washington; it measures 4 mm in diameter (less than .25 inch) and shows brooded embryos.
