Epithelial Cells Constituting the Epithelial Tissue Have Two Cell Polarities (IMAGE)
Caption
Epithelial cells constituting the epithelial tissue have two cell polarities, apicobasal polarity and planar cell polarity. In particular, planar cell polarity is essential for cell morphology and orientation of cells along the proximal-distal axis. The area near the trunk is called proximal and the area far from the trunk is called distal.
