This is a child with Dravet Syndrome -- a severe form of epilepsy that interferes with normal brain development. In two of the children whose DNA was analyzed for this study, the researchers discovered a genetic mutation causing Dravet Syndrome, providing an answer to their "diagnostic odyssey."
