New Clues Point to Relief for Chronic Itching (AUDIO)

Chronic itching is very hard to treat, partly because there are no commercially available drugs to treat it. But a drug that's approved in Japan and is being tested in the United States may be able to help change that. And new work from itch researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis suggests that by activating a specific receptor on nerve cells in the spinal cord it may be possible to alleviate both acute and chronic itching.
