This carnivorous purple pitcher plant (Sarracenia purpurea) from Dutchess County, N.Y., was the two-millionth specimen to be digitized at The New York Botanical Garden. It was digitized as part of a project funded by the NSF's Advancing Digitization of Biological Collections grant program.
