With specially designed equipment and other innovations, the New York Botanical Garden's Digital Imaging Laboratory currently processes 300,000 specimens a year. The Botanical Garden's William and Lynda Steere Herbarium contains 7.3 million dried plant specimens, making it the largest herbarium in the Western Hemisphere.
