Smoking gun: Unlike 'regular' supernovae, whose change in ultraviolet brightness follows the gray curve, this one increased in brightness faster over the first two days, before slowing down (blue curve). This bump in the light curve likely reflects the slamming of material from the exploding white dwarf into a companion star.
