Figure 2: Lipid scrambling by Atg9 enables isolation membrane expansion Atg2 transfers lipids from the endoplasmic reticulum to the cytoplasmic leaflet of the isolation membrane, which are then distributed to both leaflets by the scramblase activity of Atg9, enabling isolation membrane expansion.
