Melike Kurt is standing next to a wind tunnel where she is examining the fluid dynamic interactions between schooling fish. The goal is to better understand the energetics and fluid-mediated forces between fish with the application of developing schools of bio-inspired underwater collective machines. This work is funded through the National Science Foundation (NSF) as part of a young investigator CAREER award.
