Caption
Platelet-membrane-coated nanoparticles are made by coating biocompatible nanoparticle cores with the membranes of human platelets. Their ability to evade attack by the immune system and target both harmful pathogens and damaged blood vessels make them promising therapeutic candidates to treat bacterial infections and cardiovascular disease.
