Imitating a Real Golden Shiner

Researchers at NYU-Poly designed a bio-inspired robotic fish that imitates a golden shiner. Experiments revealed the live fish would swim closer to the robot that was painted with a more natural palette, particularly when the robot mimicked the tail beat of a real fish.
