Piecing Together an Extinct Lemur, Large as a Big Baboon (2 of 3) (IMAGE)
Caption
This image shows a contemporary red-ruffed lemur living in Madagascar. This species is much smaller than the extinct Hadropithecus (about 9 lbs versus 65 lbs), with a longer face and with tree-climbing adaptations in its limbs. Hadropithecus had a more monkey-like face and lived mostly on the ground.
