Molten salt valve failure

Sandia National Laboratories is partnering with two companies on a DOE grant to boost the efficiency of concentrating solar power systems. Improper or inadequate thermal management of the salt in such systems can cause bellows or packing damage on a molten salt valve, which can lead to valve failure.
