Lisa Shubitz, DVM, has focused her research on developing a vaccine for Valley fever, along with studying the epidemiology of the disease in canines and the ecological distribution of the fungus in southern Arizona. She is pictured with her dog, Surf, who became sick with Valley fever in 2016 and received medication for 15 months to make her well.
