Using normal activities, like watching this clip of Sesame Street that was part of a new PLoS Biology study, may provide a more accurate indicator of children’s learning and brain development in the real world than the short and simple tasks typical of fMRI studies, wrote Jessica Cantlon, a cognitive scientist at the University of Rochester and lead author of the research.
