Integrative biology undergraduate student Daniel Clark, left; evolution, ecology and behavior professor Philip Anderson and their colleagues assessed the factors that a bird must overcome to pierce a foreign egg and remove it from its nest. The study is relevant to the hosts of avian brood parasites, which lay their eggs in other birds' nests.
