A Structure of Europium Silicide Nanoislands

The surface of nanoislands is marked in brown, solid EuSi2 crystals in yellow, and the silicon surface in black. Two interfaces are visible: between the nanoislands and the silicon surface (blue), and the source of new vibrations -- the interface between two nanoislands (green).
