Rice University postdoctoral fellow Kedar Joshi prepares an experiment at the Biswal Lab to see how magnetic fields will affect a colloid of magnetic particles. Joshi and his mentor, chemical and biomolecular engineer Sibani Lisa Biswal, recently discovered unusual properties in magnetized colloids that adhere to Kelvin’s equation, which models thermodynamics.
