A three-dimensional rendering of the structure of the infectious salmon anemia virus. The rendering shows, from top, the mushroom-shaped glycoprotein, the outer membrane leaflet, the inner membrane leaflet and the matrix protein shell. Rice University scientists have obtained the complete structure of proteins that make up the inner shell.
