Mapping Cavefish Brains (IMAGE) Florida Atlantic University Caption Scientists are the first to identify large-scale differences between surface fish and cavefish populations of A. mexicanus, as well as between different populations of cavefish. They used whole-brain imaging of circuits associated with sleep and feeding and whole-brain pERK neural activity imaging, which reveals altered landscape of brain activity.
