It's a mystery: Little is known about the habits and habitats of at-risk whales, dolphins, and porpoises in the Russian Pacific. That's why our 2015 Pew marine fellow Olga Filatova, a research fellow at Moscow State University, is exploring the region -- to find and protect the areas these animals need most to survive.
She's one of five distinguished scientists and conservationists from Canada, Australia, Russia, and the United Kingdom to be named a 2015 recipient of the Pew fellowship in marine conservation.
