COVID-19 Sensor (IMAGE) University of Utah Caption Pictured is a 2.5-by-1.8-centimeter prototype sensor developed by University of Utah electrical and computer engineering professor Massood Tabib-Azar that can detect the presence of the Zika virus in people. Tabib-Azar has received a National Science Foundation grant to convert the same technology to test for the COVID-19 coronvirus. The sensor, which will be about the size of a quarter and works with a cellphone, is portable, reusable and can provide results in about a minute.
