Ordered Dislocation (VIDEO) Brown University This video is under embargo. Please login to access this video. Caption Atomic simulations show how defects in nanotwinned metal associated with repetitive stress remain ordered and do not impede each other's motion. Because the dislocations don't become tangled like they do in normal metals, they can be reversed when the load is reduced. In this way, damage from repetitive stress is less likely to accumulate in nanotwinned metals. Credit Pan et. al.
