'Collagen Fingerprinting' Successful on 88% of Ancient Turtle Bones (IMAGE)

Virginia Harvey of the University of Manchester and Casper Toftgaard of the University of Copenhagen select turtle bone samples excavated from the U.S. Virgin Islands for collagen analysis at the National Museum of Denmark. In an analysis of 130 archaeological turtle samples, the team was able to detect collagen in 88%.
