An engineer performs maintenance on the Brookhaven LINAC Isotope Producer (BLIP) linear accelerator at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Thorium-232 targets are irradiated in Brookhaven’s accelerator and then brought to ORNL for processing into actinium-225.
